Inspiring Theatre Instigating Change
Futures Theatre Company works to create authentic, captivating, high-impact and imaginative new theatre and participatory activities of the highest quality. Our work celebrates and empowers women, gives a voice to the unheard, inspires young people and champions cultural diversity.
We realise our aims through the creation of new theatre productions which are toured across London and the UK to schools and venues. Artistic Director Caroline Bryant works in collaboration with writers, designers, musicians and movement specialists to create work which is developed through improvisation. Our productions are inspired by real life stories and based on in-depth research to ensure that we create theatre that is rooted in truth and accuracy.
Much of this work is supported by our education programme which delivers bespoke drama based workshops exploring the issues raised in our productions further and are also delivered as stand alone programmes engaging young people and adult groups.
To complement these core activities we work with our wider local community through participation projects and additionally use our transferable skills to deliver drama based training for education, health and social care professionals.
This extremely successful scheme has reached adults and young people across London and the UK, often in some of the most deprived communities. As a result it has been used as a model of excellence for a European wide initiative to tackle poverty and disadvantage.
